| Exact | Disables fuzzy matching (spelling variants, nicknames). "William" won't match "Bill". |
| Required | Term must appear in results. Surname is always required by default. |
Use the From/To fields for date ranges. Dates are in YYYY format (e.g., 1850) or YYYY-MM-DD.
Place names are matched broadly ("like"). Kentucky matches "Kentucky, United States" and similar. Use specific terms for better results.
The API returns up to 100 results per page, with a maximum of 5,000 total results. Results are ranked by relevance.
